At Comfort Systems USA (Syracuse) we understand that the personal health and safety of our employees and our organization is of primary importance. We believe our employees are our most valuable asset and that their safety is our greatest responsibility. Our goal is to provide our employees and our customers world class safety hazard prevention with a “Safety First” upper management commitment, company safety committee, backed with an industry leading training program and unrivaled OSHA policies.
Our safety director holds a degree in Occupational Health & Safety, is a certified OSHA outreach trainer, train the trainer in all construction safety standards, American Red Cross Certified instructor, and is an NCCER certified instructor.
We offer an unparalleled training program for all our employees to include but not limited to the following:
- 10-Hour OSHA certification for all new hire employees.
- 30-Hour OSHA certification for all supervisors and foreman.
As well as confined space, aerial lift, welding & cutting (Hot Work), asbestos awareness, lead awareness, fall protection, first aid, CPR & AED, hazard (GHS) communication, powered industrial trucks (all classes I-VII), respiratory training & fit testing, rigging & signal person training, scaffolding (Use & Erection) training, silica exposure, and trenching & excavation…
Our assurance is to perform our work safely within and above compliance of all state and federal standards, laws, and guidelines through competent person designation, hazard awareness, and corrective measures, subcontractor compliance, safety audits/inspections and strong management commitment. Through the attainment of these goals we are confident our company will remain competitive and viable in our industry.
Apprenticeship Program
Woodcock & Armani, ABJ, and Billone Mechanical offer a NYS registered apprenticeship training program in Plumber/Pipefitter, Sheetmetal & Sprinkler fitter disciplines utilizing the NCCER curricula. The training is provided in our 5,000 sq. ft. NYSED approved training facility as a NCCER Accredited Training Sponsor. The coordination of training is provided by the Training & Development Manager Matthew Stephan. Matthew, a former graduate, is a Journeyman plumber in multiple counties around the Central New York Region, NCCER certified craft instructor, EPA certified in HVAC refrigeration, and OSHA 30 hour certified.
